New GrandBaby on the way!

Our daughter Jennifer, and her husband Derek, are expecting a son in August 2010, around the 12Th. They revealed the sex to us on Monday March 15Th. They have chosen the name Grayson Davis for this new family member. Becky, I, and the rest of the family are really excited to have a new baby join this crazy family... We can hardly wait.

We finally named our boat. She's now the "Phish Food" named after the Ben and Jerry Ice Cream flavor, and if you have a bit of a "hippy" lifestyle, after the band "Phish"

Becky and I go to San Antonio for Valentine's Day 02/12/09

Becky and I visited with Randy and Pam Baker and they shared various San Antonio sites with us. Like this one, the Mission San Jose. Pam and Randy are old friends from our current neighborhood, Woodlawn Village. They moved to San Diego CA about 3 years ago and then "retired" and moved to San Antonio in July 2008. We enjoy visiting with them since they are great people and they live in very interesting places too.

Jennifer and Derek get married - October 25, 2008

Well, my daughter Jennifer got married to Derek Davenport on October 25, 2008 at Bonne Terre Country Inn in Nesbit, Mississippi. It was a wonderful weather day as well as a wonderful celebration day.

Everything pretty much went exactly as planned. Jennifer was as pretty as ever and Derek was handsome. We had lots of company from out of town from both families and because of that we had a great time visiting after the actual wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerard “Jerry” H. Theuns of Collierville, TN are proud to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth, to Derek Scott Davenport of Memphis, TN.

Jennifer’s grandparents are John and Miep Theuns of New Orleans, LA, Joyce Kennedy of Baton Rouge, LA, and the late Phillip and Shirley Melancon of New Orleans, LA. Jennifer graduated from Houston High School and earned a Bachelor of Marketing Degree from the University of Memphis where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.

Derek’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ward Douglas Davenport of Bartlett, TN. His grandparents are Johnnie and Carolee Hamilton of Russellville, AR and Maggie and the late Ward Davenport of Yellville, AR. Derek graduated from Bartlett High School and earned a Bachelor of Management Information Systems Degree from the University of Memphis graduating magna cum laude.

Jennifer and Derek are both employed at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The wedding is planned for Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Bonne Terre Wedding Chapel in Nesbit, MS. The reception will follow at Bonne Terre. Following a honeymoon in St. Maarten, the couple will reside in Memphis, TN.

Oct 17, 2007 we Bought a Boat......

Well, my mid life crisis hit and Becky and I went out a bought a boat. We've never owned one before but it seemed like it would be a blast. Figured we try with a slightly used boat (1999 Sea Ray 270 DA) that we are now keeping at Aqua Harbor on Pickwick Lake in Iuka Mississippi. We have yet to change it's name to something we like but we are leaning towards the name MotoBoato. If you have a thought about what to name her let me know before the Spring.

My Grandfather

This is the restored photo of my Dad's Dad, my Grandfather, or put another way this is Lil' Jerry's Great Great Grandfather. He was born May 7th, 1898 and died at the age of 40, in 1938, when my father was 12 years old. According to my father this photo was taken when my Grandfather was either 20 or 21 years old. He was a Horseman in the Royal Dutch Cavalry, 3rd Regiment, known as the "Blue Hussars".

When Mom and Dad came up for Christmas, in 2006, they brought this copy of a photograph that we sat for in Amsterdam in 1964. The photo shows me at the ripe old age of 15 (upper left). Carrie, Beverly and Audrey along with Mom and Dad, Oma Basma, Opa Bosma, Tanta Will and her husband and Carla all are in the picture.

We enjoyed Christmas this year with Mom and Dad, Jennifer and her boyfriend Derek, Michael and his son Lil Jerry and Jerry's Mom, Kat, along with Stephanie, Becky and me.



Becky made a great Prime Rib while Michael brought a deep fried turkey. All in all, we ate like there was no tomorrow and everyone got many gifts from Santa and each other.

My Mom & Dad's 50th Anniversary Family Picture

Back in 1997 Mom & Dad (Meip & John) had a big 50th Wedding Anniversary party and family gathering. This is about the last time that EVERYONE, their son and Daughter in law, their daughters and their spouses, and all the grandkids were together in one place. Maybe in 2007 we can do a 60th anniversary get together?

My trip to San Diego Sept 30th

Here are Randy and Pam Baker at the San Diego Zoo. Randy & Pam used to live across the street from us but moved in August so that Randy could take a job at San Diego State University. I had to go to Plant Equipment in Temecula on business so I just drove down to San Diego for this visit right after my meetings were done.

31st Wedding Anniversary Trip to Hawaii
